Junior Leader Training Academy

Junior Leader Training Academy (JLTA) is the district junior leader training program for SoMo district.  JLTA consists of multiple training camps and events, often taking place at the same time and location, typically at our district campgrounds at Camp Millhouser.  Details on the next JLTA are provided below.

The following camps are planned for this year's JLTA.  Details on each camp are provided below.  This information is subject to change.  Pre-registration is required for all camps.  All staff & adults attending must be members of SoMo district staff or RR Alumni and submit at JLTA Staff Application.​

Discovery Adventure Camp

Discovery Adventure Camp (DAC) is a fun, 3-day outdoor adventure for Discover Rangers.  The purpose of the camp is to provide boys with a fun experience, teach some basic outdoor skills, and provide a structured discipleship experience that will help him make a deeper commitment to Christ.  Boys must be a graduate of the 3rd grade to participate.

  • DATE:  July 24-26, 2025 (camp begins at 10AM Thursday)

  • COST:  $85.00

 

Junior Training Camp

Junior Training Camp (JTC) is the first step in a boy's path to the Trail of the Saber award and the Junior Academy saber.  JTC provides an introduction to teamwork and leadership skills for use in the outpost and beyond.  Boys must be a graduate of the 6th grade to participate.

  • DATE:  June 24-26, 2025 (camp begins at 10AM Thursday)

Advanced Junior Training Camp

Advanced Junior Training Camp (AJTC) provides the next step beyond JTC in the junior leader training process.  AJTC provides skill training beyond those presented in JTC.  Boys must be a graduate of the 7th grade to participate.

  • DATE:  July 24-26, 2025 (camp begins at 10AM Thursday)

  • LOCATION:  Camp Millhouser

Junior Academy

Junior Academy (JA) is the final step in a boy's journey to the Trail of the Saber award and the academy saber. At Junior Academy boys learn how to serve on staff with the other camps.  Boys must be a graduate of the 9th grade, must have completed JTC and AJTC, and completed one Action Camp to participate.
